I saw an old montauk with a plywood pilothouse/cuddy cabin, kinda like radon/wilson style. It looked really neat and I wanted to do that to mine....was looking for info, opinions, where to get started, thanks
yeah i saw that one....it is really cool but i think im going for something similar...the thing is there's this old man by my house with an old montauk with a late 70s or early 80s 70 hp evinrude on it. the console and steering and all that is gone. i wanted to start fresh and build a pilothouse/cuddy on it out of plywood...i dont know if i should use 1/2 in ply, 3/4, fiberglass or paint, i dont know where and who sells the steering, throttle cables, and gas tank....o the list can go on and on...anyway have some tidbits i can start with? thanks
Gas Tanks:
I bought several from Bass Pro which fit the Montauks almost like the original style.
Try this link: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalo...get=browse
Some people prefer ONE 27 gallon tank (D) and other people like myself preferred TWO 12 gallon tanks (B)
Whatever fuel tank fits your application will work.
I've attached a photo of the 12 gallon tempo tank below.

You should have a look at these guys. I know someone who bought a pilothouse from them and turned there 22 guardian into a pilothouse Cuddy. I have pics if you would like to see them.
