Well, I got a compliment on my boat of course. I'm a Boston Whaler owner. Smile
Had a great weekend. Some big water. Some cruising. Some beach and first time skiing with this boat. It did a wonderful job in each situation.
I even had time to moor it out front and scrub it down this morning.

Yep, it's amazing at how many people around North Texas know what a Whaler is yet very few folks around here own one.

On July 4th weekend while in Lake Lavon I was stopped by the Collin County marine cops and had a courtesy safety inspection conducted on our boat. Of course we passed but the funny thing was that this past Thursday 7/23 I was stopped again by the same cop at the boat ramp we use in Lake Lavon. Well he pulled up along side and then said "Didn't I check you on July 4th weekend?" I said yep.....what reminded you that you stopped me? He then said "That classic Whaler of yours....". He then smiled and sent me on my way without conducting another courtesy safety inspection.

Whalers stand out.

Love it!! We were on Lake Texoma for three days, patrol came up along side - I asked, "what can i do for you",he said "we just wanted to have a look at your Whaler" they said "beautiful boat and have a nice day"! and off they went. Good thing i renewed my tags last week.

Yesterday on the way back to the marina my throtttle / shift cable went
out,we were able to poke along at 10mph and hall out - Thank god it happend on the last day out.Beautiful lake, great fishing, also took the 8'6" longboard for some freeboarding. 5.5 hours back to Austin, yes,it is HOT! New Yamaha cables on the way ~

JVZ, were you towing your whaler behind a Green Chevy Truck? If so, were you on Hwy 75, just north of Dallas around the plano area heading north about 4pm Thursday afternoon?

If so....I passed you up on hwy 75 and was hoping that you were a WC member.

Oh, I did wave when I passed you...and your wife was looking at me....probably thought I was a nut. Lol. Not that you would remember, but I was in a green and tan F-150. Wow, tooooo cool.

It was funny to me that I saw you and your boat because I was on my way home to get my boat to do a little fishing at lake Lavon.....about 530pm that day is when I was stopped by the marine cops on the lake.....hence my story. You drove right through my town of Mckinney.

That would be perfect! The kids and I loved it up there and would like to go again.

Good luck with your new throttle/shift cables.

My better half's parents live in Sherman - so to keep me sane i bring the Whaler.

Great cabins to rent and fantastic camping,.. pull the boat up to the camp site and scub the hull -

Wish we could have met - next time

Cheers!
