My 280 Conquest has a pair of 1999 Merc 225 DFI OptiMax. (both with 132hrs) The power head on the starboard engine is toast.

I have 0 psi in cyl#5,

60psi in cyl#6

The remaining 4 cyls. are maxing out at 80psi.

I'm in search of a re-manufactured short block. Anyone have a recommendation on who to contact? I have done a search on the web and found a few, but would like to find someone a bit closer than NW Florida.

Thanks in advance,

Norm

I just had a neighbor mention this Mercury program: http://www.mercuryremanufacturing.comturing.com

Factory rebuilds by in-house Mercury technicians (or those in training). One year warrantee. I think you have to have a participating dealer. That's all I know. Let us know if you check it out in detail.

1outboard? I don't have personal experience, but apparently many others do...and they weren't too thrilled:

Wow,

Read the posts regarding "1outboard". How do folks live with themselves?

Very nervous about doing business with anyone now...

Anyone speak from personal experience? Someone they've done business with and would recommend?

Thanks,

Norm
