Thinking about purchasing a 25hp yamaha for my 13' whaler. Not sure if I can use a short shaft on the whaler. Does anyone know if that is a possibility?
Thanks,
Key-z

What year is your 13'? We need to know that information to determine if you have a 20 inch or a 15 inch transom.

Just what I figured but wanted to get expert advise before I ventured out and bought a brand new 25hp yamaha with a 15" shaft still in the box for $1350.00.
I have a 30hp Johnson engine that hasn't been cranked up in two years. I guess I'll have to ask my mechanic if he can get it up and running.
Thanks for the information.

I hope you bought that motor for that price. Is it a tiller model? You can buy an adapter to raise your transom to 20".

Yes! It's a tiler. I just wrote her this evening, thanking her for contacting me but the motor was too short for my whaler. Take a look.
