I have a question, the answer to which I couldnt find directly here. Apologies if Im just not looking in the right place.
I am attempting to locate the anode on the mount of an outboard motor. I believe it is missing, but am not sure, as I am less familiar with Evinrude/OMC than I am with several other makes.
The outboard is an Evinrude SeaPro 115 HP, model number E115SLEDR.
1. rear of engine near the adjusting trim tab.
2. Lower unit inside which you cannot see.
3. one between the engine brackets.
I don't see the normal one that sits on top of the lower unit and cavitation plate right in the front. I don't have a 1996 engine to look at right now.
The one i was searching for was the one between the engine brackets. I did not see it at first because I wasn't sure where I would find it, I just knew there should be one somewhere, and a customer inquired about its condition. I printed out the diagram and went and looked again and discovered I had not been able to pinpoint it the first time around because A.) It was badly depleted, about 50%, and B.) the previous service provider had painted over it completely.
Is there one on top of the gear case right in front?
I can't seem to find that in the parts catalog as it is not shown.
It isn't shown for other models either but they do list the "Anode" as not being shown but give a part number.
It is hoisted up right now, cannot get to that part of the motor, and there's wet paint on the hull. When she comes back down to earth in a few days' time, I will take a look and post my findings here.
