Hi, I am a new member and I have found a bit of a basket case 15 ft. Sport. 1976 hull and 70 hp. Johnson and roller trailer. It was last run in 2003 and left outside uncovered under trees since. The hull is surprisingly descent and some of the wood was stored indoors. All of the steering cables and wiring harness is shot. After looking at imptfm personal page the boat looks like all the parts are there. It was used on a small inland lake primarily to ski with.
Looking for the Good , Bad and Ugly of this model and and what would be a realistic value. I am thinking a bit south of a grand should buy the boat.
Thanks in advance for your opinions

I paid $3100 in water, broken bench seat, 3 yr old motor, and no trailer, had to re-do wiring and all wood, if you could post pic's it would help.

If you can buy a 15 with a motor that has no know issues and a trailer that will get it home for less than a grand it is a good deal. There are a lot less 15 footers out there And it seems most of them are still in good shape. Most I have seen are three grand and up. I would snatch it up if it were around the corner from where I lived

Thanks for the responses and I will try to get pics even if I decide to pass on this. My biggest worry was outside under a tree for six years and what effects that might have(water in the foam etc). I looked on boat trader and the prices were all over the place. 3500-8500 dollars for that vintage depending how new the power is. I stepped on the floor and it didn't seem spongy. It is laid out like ioptfm boat.

If you can get it for a grand then by all means do it regardless of the condition. You can always make a planter out of it and put it in your front yard

LOL, It already is. It is just in the back yard. It has little maple trees growing in it. I do get your point and am now educated. Sounds like it is worth more than I thought. I may get pics tomorrow.
