Lets plan an event.

I'm in Westbrook, we have a great spot called Duck Island where we could get a big raft together.

I just got a 15 sport and plan to have it in in a few weeks.

I can also offer free dockage for about 3 or 4 boats.

Lets plan something.

Anyone??????

Hello - I'm in CT and while I live in North Central CT, I trailer down to the shore and travel all over the state/sound. I have an old Montauk, 1978. Updated engine (slightly), electronics and rigging but otherwise very original. Let me know if you set something up. I'd be interested in connecting with Whaler owners in the area.

Lets get a big turn out.

I am in Connecticut. Do alittle boating in the Sound. Not real big on the 'rafting' scene, kinda like to go places.

I can see duck island from where I live. Great place for a meet. Check the forecast for the 13 Whalers from Essex.

Hello from Texas! I don't live there now, but Ct is where i grew up, Cromwell to be exact. I will be up visiting my family the 8th - 14 of May, so if your weekend happens to be the same, my brother has a boat (sorry not a Whaler, but there has to be the uneducated to e expected) and we could possibly drop in. If my memory serves me correctly, duck island is a little bit shy of the mouth of the CT river correct? Spent many a weekend on watch hill after trailering our boat to Groton as part of the Outboard Assoc when i was a little guy some 40 years ago! Again, wasn't a Whaler, but an old Thompson.

Scrimshaw, maybe we can finally meet! Smile

Hi I'm in the Clinton Harbor area and have a new (to me) 1962 13 footer. I'll be buzzing around Duck and that general area all summer. Let me know when the meet-up is...that's my usual stomping ground, can't wait for summer!

I'm up in New London with my 13ft / 40hp . Be a long haul for me by water but might be able to trailer down, depending on the date. I'll be in the water 3rd week of march most likely

Lets do it!!! We need to come up with a date.

I'm a teacher so I'm better for July and August when I'm off and the fishing is slow.

What say the CT Whalers?? Suggestions?

Peir 76 in Westbrook is right in town.

http://www.pier76.com/

Matter of fact, you can see Duck Island in the upper right side of the aerial photo on their home page, my dock is right up the river from pier 76 and I could probably put 4 more whalers on there, if we raft them, for a few days if need be. For a small beer donation of course. :-)

You can see pictures of my dock on my personal page.

July 4 is on a sunday, so that gives weekend dates of 10,11 or 17,18 or 24,25. Come August I am gearing up for Tuna so I would say last few weeks of July some time.

Do we want to do this during the week?? It would be less crowded but I think more would be able to attend on the weekend.

What do you guys think??

I'd do my best to come to one at Duck Island, off Westbrook, CT.
