Found a kicker

They happened to be an E-tec dealer so I stopped in to "browse". I was talking to the owner about installing a kicker on my boat when he stated he had a few small motors. We walked into the shop and he showed me a 2000 Evinrude 9.9 4-stroke long shaft. It was a clean fresh water motor that was used occasionally for $500. Well, the price sounded great, so I put a deposit on it. I will going back to hear it run on Thursday. It has been some wild time locating the right kicker. Had a bead on a 1999 Johnson 8hp 2-stroke (matched the main motor) but the guy was in Va and he wanted $1000. Not to mention I think he was a fraud. The 9.9 seems like a good deal. Anyone know much about these motors? I might be wrong, but didn't Suzuki make these for OMC? Kevin 1988 11' Super Sport, 1987 Johnson 15hp.
