The trim control on my throttle control recently stopped working however it still works from the trim buttons on the motor itself. I checked for loose or broken wire inside the console and pulled the switch out itself and did not notice anything obvious. The switch itself is enclosed I guess for corrosion protection. Before I replace it I thought I would post here to look for something obvious that I am missing. Thanks for any advice. Bob
If you can get to the wires going to the swich, then you should be able to short them out. If you get activity on the tilt then it is the siwtch. If no response then you probably have a short or break in the wire
Like Tom says, it's an easy check to see if the switch is bad. If the switch can be taken apart, you can clean the contacts and get a couple more years out of it. At least that's what I did.
