Hey guys:

I posted earlier in the weekend about a pickup tube for a speedometer.

I have a '93 Mercury 135 model L. I found an intake in the lower unit. I, however, can't find a fitting or hose to connect the pickup tube to. I looked under the cavitation plate and couldn't find anything. I removed the engine cover and searched around--still nothing. I'm not very mechanically inclined when it comes to outboards so I could easily be overlooking it. Can anyone guide me to the right area if anywhere?

By the way. I check out ebay once a week just to look at what is offered under Boston Whaler. Check out an '86 (I think) Revenge. The boat looks nice and seems to have what I would think is a cheap price.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

The speedo tube is connected in the lower unit. If the black plastic tube is missing then you need to drop the lower unit to re connect a new one...: (I believe it is a small brass fitting but can't be totally sure) it will not be under the cavitation plate...: You will not be able reach the connector where the tube come out...( Been through this... once on my old V6 merc and recently on my yamie...
