I have twin 1999, 225 Merc Optimax (the kids have named them "Flotsam" & "Jetsam" on my 1999, 280 Conquest. She is new to me as of last October. I only ran her a few times last fall before she got pulled and winterized. Yesterday we headed down the Hudson to view the Naval vessels there for "Fleet Week". At WOT they're only turning 5,000 rpm. I believe they should be closer to 5,500-5,800 rpm. Does anyone have one of these Opti's? And if so, where does your's run?
I made a mistake this spring, I did not write down the prop sizes when I was putting the wheels back on her. Now I'm kicking myself. I'm not sure what the diameter or the pitch is on the wheels. The boat is about 11,000lbs when loaded with my crew, fuel, water and gear. Any ideas would be helpfull.
