Last summer we purchased a mid 1970 13" sport. Stripped her down and sent the hull to fiberglass guy to do the really tough work. I kept the wood project for myself along with refitting a new rub rail, lights and seats and console.
I just finished the project and it turned out great. We have an older Johnson 25hp pull start engine that runs like a top. MN law will not allow a larger engine for drivers under age twelve of which I have two. So 25 ph will have to do for a couple of years.
I want to thank a number of members for their help. Mostly you all kept me from making some big mistakes (staining my mahogany, using a recessed mount for my mast light, and assisting with some of the wiring issues). Kammie was particularly helpful in helping me relocate the console and seats for a better ride. My steering cable allowed me to move the console and seat a full six inches forward.
Just want you all to know that this resource was great and I hope to remain active for some time.
