Hi, I just joined the site tonight. We just acquired the very first Boston Whaler I ever saw! I am the little guy by the center console in this picture from around 1975, my Grandfather at the helm. We will drive all day Friday to pick it up.

I will post some updated pictures next week and well as elaborate on this Whaler's story. -Mark

Thanks,

That looks like a great event, and reachable for me. Unfortunately I am committed to the Cock Island Race, in Portsmouth, VA that weekend, crewing on my friends '65 Columbia 40. Is it an annual event?

Here is the boat in current form. I will post some better quality pictures next week. -Mark

Mark,
I am sure that you will find a world of good info and Whaler related subjects here.
Good to see that you still had her in the family.
I will enjoy seeing your updated photos.

Mark,

That is one of my favorite boats. Consider yourself a lucky man.

I sure do, Doug. According to Chuck, this boat is actually a '71.
After 37-38 years in Hilton Head Island, this vessel will now ply the lower Chesapeake Bay. -Mark
