Hi im a brand new member I recently bought some land and was clearing a hedge row and found underneath lots of briers an old BW 13 ft boat upside down I dont know a thing about it . It does still seem solid though not in very good shape I think I would like to resore it ,but I live in S.C. and must have a title to use it .The only numbers I can find on it are 13575 in stencil on transom is this the hull id? And can anyone tell me anything about the boat?

By the stencil number it appears you have a 1964 13' model.

Lots of information can be found in the articles section.
Here is the article on serial numbers:

In SC you can get a Salvaged title after tracing the registration numbers with the Wildlife Dept........You'll find that there is a multitude of knowlege on this site and all are more than willing to share their knowledge and experience with you in getting your project restored. Just don't be afraid to ask questions. As soon as you can set up a personal page or project page so we can see what you have.............CONGRADULATIONS!

Under a certain size you might not need a title. I would be sure to read the laws carefully.

You can also contact Chuck Bennett at Boston Whaler and give him your stenciled numbers and he can tell you a lot of history on the boat as to where it was first delivered, etc

Nobody hurt Thank-God, the driver fell asleep went across a few lawn's and smashed into the pole, I fumbled for my cell phone, and dropped it a few times while dialing 911 in the dark, lost my mag-lite too Angry Just glad that nobody was hurt, including MY WHALER ! Now, I'm all "Paranoid" and I'll probably put Cement poles around the boat.

* Sorry for "Hi-Jacking" the "thread" but, it was a tad too "Hairy" for me at that hour, I was waiting for sunrise to work on the boat.

Sfyarb , I am just around the corner if you need some help. If you can find an old regestration number it can be ran to see about the last owner and year as well. BG

Very cool find! To think when I was remodeling my old house I found an old nudie magazine from the 60's stuffed between 2 rafters...after looking at it for a minute or two, I put it back up there for the next guy who does a remodel...and I thought I was lucky! Turns out you've found what's at the end of the rainbow! Smile

Good luck.
