I thought I would see if anyone out there would remember the size of screws that the RPS and the Coolers cleats take to attach them to the deck. My labeled bag for these screws seem to have been misplaced at the marina. I think they may be # 10 but the length is suspect. Thanks.
I just re-installed both items after some varnishing work. Length-wise, BW suggests that all screws into the hull/floor where there is wood underneath the glass, penetrate no more than 1". So size the screws accordingly.
Cooler cleats use #10 screws
RPS uses #14 screws.
If your cooler cleats are varnished, I recommend you use a trim ring and 3/4" dia #10 fender washer under the screw head. The washer will prevent the trim rings from cutting the varnish surface, and prevent the characteristic black ring that eventually shows up in the wood. You can see the detail in the rod racks here:
