Recently bought a 1988 18' Outrage with leaning post and attached rod holder. Metal is in great condition, no pitting, rust etc. Leaning post cover is fair, could stand to be recoverd due to sun exposure. I'm looking to trade it for a bench seat (with the would back that flips from forward facing to aft facing configuration).
Any one interested in this trade? I'm in Long Island New York.
The seat you are looking for is called and RPS (reversible pilot seat). Many who have these these hold on to them. You can still order them new for $1400 though they lack some nice details from the old style. These seats tend to come up for sale on EBAY now and again so keep and eye out.
Sue Lodell at twincitiesmarine.com is who you want to talk to if you want to order one.
Better off keeping the leaning post till you can get a RPS and selling the leaning post out right.
You'll probably be able to run down a pretty fair RPS on Ebay or other places on the net(Continuous Wave), or used marine parts stores for somewhere in the $400-500 area. If you have it shipped, be sure it is well packed.
