Sounds like a good match to me. I'd have a compression check and a sea trial if it is available. I don't know about the price. The 40 is a really good size for the 13.

Gee. I think I may have the same motor on my boat. It's a 2001 13 Sport.
I found a 10-3/8" prop with 13 or 14 pitch is just about right. I use the 14 with 2 people and little load. The 13 is best when It's full to and beyond capacity. I've got no complaints.
