Member Posts: 15 Comments: 0 Joined: 09/28/07	I have a 1990 13' Super Sport that I have been working on and it is time to buy an outboard. After much searching I just found a 2001 Mercury 40 hp elpto with 20" shaft. The motor has: power trim & tilt electric start oil injection control box and all wiring ignition key less than 60 hours The asking price is $1,750.00 My questions are: 1.) Is this a good outboard for my boat? 2.) Does this seem like a fair price for the motor as described? Thank you for your input and advice.

Member Personal Page Posts: 178 Comments: 0 Joined: 02/10/08	Gee. I think I may have the same motor on my boat. It's a 2001 13 Sport. I found a 10-3/8" prop with 13 or 14 pitch is just about right. I use the 14 with 2 people and little load. The 13 is best when It's full to and beyond capacity. I've got no complaints.
