Anyone get out over the weekend for sum trophy rock? I fished sat from 6 to 10, caught two 37s. The jellies were everywere and made trolling serious work. (pulling the lines in constantly for cleaning) Need to figure out how to post pics some day. Anyways, I'm excited the season has come.Grin

HI BRADY, used to live up that way in Severna Park, boating on the Severn River. Know what you mean about the rock fish!!! Glad to hear they'er still arround. They were in trouble in the 70's when I was there. Catch a couple for me and my Grandfather, couldn't get him off the bay at times like this

Wasn’t about to attempt Sat – you are brave. Went out Sunday for a few hours – a bit windy and over cast. Got skunked. The only thing we were catching was jellyfish “snot”. Read a couple of fishing reports and seems like Sunday’s action was more south. Attempted to go today (no crowds), but the weather kept getting worse. Congrats on the 37s

I live on the Magothy River. Just got my boat going and I plan on going out this weekend. I spent Sunday puttin around and messin with the fishfinder. I know some ppl who got some nice fish.

BTW- It was Sunny and about 70 here last Saturday. On that day, people were trollin on the top 10 feet and using white bucktails.

Ran from the Magothy down to the gas docks looking for cleaner water, did not fair to well for opening day. We landed 32 incher at 7:55am, next fish was 34inches, around 8:30 am, and landed our last fish 33inches around 9:30am. There were tons of jellies, we were cleaning our tandems every half hour. We did not mark much bait on the fish finder and the fish were scattered, no pattern.

I did get some nice reports from some buddies this morning as the bite has improved from opening day.

I caught three on Saturday. I also saw a nice Classic 18' Outrage for sale in front of Tyler's Tackle Shop.

How do you attach pictures??

Well, if your in a river around here, you want to find holes and other key spots. A guy leaves his bright pier light on all of the time near me, or a jetty next to a channel. Trolling has alot to do with the Sun and temps. I know ppl that tore up the Rock fish last Saturday on the top 10 feet trolling in the bay. The Sun was out, no clouds, and the fish were coming up to the top for the heat. I expect more of the same this Sat and Sun.

I had the chance to go fishing saturday and sunday around chesapeake beach and managed to land my first striper, a 38 incher. It was caught at 9:30 in the morning and it was caught trolling the rig less than 7 feet. I do plan to go back next week because it was very enjoyable even though it was a zoo but it should start to calm down.
