The motor is hung from the lift right now. I want to tilt the motor up so I can replace the rusted supports. There are no battery leads to my motor right now. Previous owner kept them. Question: Where do the leads go on the motor/starter? I'm going to just connect jumper clips to tilt up with the motor switch, but don't know where to connect them. Thanks for the help!
Most t&t motors have 3 wires. One is ground, the other two make it run forward or reverse. Follow the wires from the motor and at some point you should find a connector to the main harness. Disconnect it and you can run the t&T motor by applying battery power to those wires.
You should have a manual trim release on the right side near engine mount. Just turn this with a flat head screwdriver and you will be able to tilt the motor. It's pretty easy.
If you need them, I have a new Yamaha waterpump kit and Yamaha thremostat for sale -- $40 shipped.
