My 'new to me' Montauk 150 is ready to fish as soon as the weather/water warm a bit. Eventually I want to get a kicker motor and a trolling motor but that's bigger bucks than I have now. Will it hurt the Merc 60 (four stroke) to troll with it slow for extended time? I don't have or want a trolling plate but the Merc will run slow enough to troll I think.
It shouldn't cause any problems for you to be trolling at slow speeds, but I would keep an eye on the temp and water flow. Those show be your only concerns
