Whalers have distinctive lines that "Whaler types" don't often imitate very well. There are folks here who might see intuitively whether it's genuine or not. Take lots of pics then choose a couple that you think really show off the lines of the hull. Remember too that stuff like splash well, console, anchor locker, rub rail, etc. could all be telltale signs too. Hope this helps. I'm not an expert myself, that's why I carry a chainsaw in cases like this!
