HI..I was wondering what a good price for a clean 1996 15 foot Dauntless would be? It has a 2 stroke Yamaha 50 horse-not sure about the hours, it was a tender to a bigger boat. Not alot of extras, trailer and CC cover-no bimimi.

Thanks

Cheeks

Hard to say, is the original motor on it? Hours matter and a lot of the value associated with the boat lies with the motor.

I would imagine the hull itself would only be worth a couple grand, to maybe 4000 bucks depending on its condition. If the motor is a peach another 2k or so. I seen a few nice looking 1996 50 horse 4 stroke Yamahas for around $2200 to $2500. Although the extras are nice, they don't really make a boat that much more desireable that the seller can really raise the price much, except of course if they are high end new electronics and things. Things like PFDs, oars, anchors etc. should just add up to a nice addition without reflecting in the price.

I would say fair price with the very little info we know for a really exemplary specimen would be about $7000 to $7500; one that is a 5-7 of ten maybe $4000 to $5000 anything in worse shape than that has really been beat up since its less than 15 years old.

Please show us photos. Folks can help you out much better. Keep in mind that my assessment is probably the least credible one you will receive from this site. But I think I am probably close.

Cheeks,
I just looked on jaxed.com and there are several for sale from 6500 to 9900. Either my confuser or the site is very slow right now so I couldn't look deeper into year, power, etc.. the market is a real benefit for the buyer right now. Be patient and I'm sure you can find a great boat at a steal. Good luck. Let us know how it comes out.

Thanks for the info...We were thinking about 7500 or so...that gives me a good place to start. We are planning on using this to tow behind out 36' Grand Banks. We have a 9 foot Whaler on it as a skiff but my hubby wanted to put a big engine on it so it would plane better...we decided to go with a bigger whaler and that way we have a back up tug and a great fishing and exploring boat when we are in the San Juans and I like a boat I can handle myself too for fishing around home... I will let you know how it goes today..he did have it out in the saltwater alot and the bottom condition could be bad..he was great with his big boat so I think it will be nice.

Hey that Jax is a cool site..we liked it and think we might make a offer. it belongs to a good friend and isn't on the market. Hubby was a little concerned about the age of the engine..it is a 1995 but it has been serviced every year. We are thinking 6K for a price. It is hard to find others to compare it too..
