What is the PSI gauge on a 170 Montauk for?

Most likely water pressure for the motor.

The Gauge is on the console.

I would agree with Jeff in that it is probably a water pressure gauge. There should be a tube of sorts going from the gauge directly to the motor and possibly an electrical wire for the light in the gauge
