I seem to recall reading here about a wax that has anti-fouling properties. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I want to keep the slime off but don't want to bottom paint the boat. Thanks...
Boat Armor makes one called Easy On Bottom Coating. It's avaliable at West Marine.I have seen other wax products for antifouling but can't recall them right now.
If the hull is going to spend any lengthy time (like a week) in salt water, you're going to need bottom paint. Barnicles are "planktonic" (free swimming) at first, they attach to your hull then call it "HOME" as they grow. Bottom paint has "Copper" in it, The organism attaches itself, then get's poisoned by the "Copper", dies and fall's off the hull. Some feel that "Bottom paint" is "UGLY", IT IS ! Cleaning Barnicles off a hull is even UGLIER.
