Hi All,
I am new to the forums and a new owner of a 1995 15' Dauntless. The folks I bought it from kept it in the garage, unfortunately, I am not able to do the same. I need to store it in my driveway and need a cover that will keep the harmful UV rays off of the gelcoat. I have had no luck in finding a generic cover for a 15' center console whaler, any ideas as to where I should look. I know that J.M. Mills has the caddilac covers, I am just not sure I want to spend that much money right now.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
TIA
Dave
The silence is deafening and I think I have the message...I wouldn't put a beach towel over a race horse so it is logical to cover my new mini yacht with the very best. I spoke with Suzanne today from Wm. J. Mills and will get her the measurements she needs.
For those of you who have the Mills covers, what kind of warranty do they come with?

Don't take the silence personal by any means. Normally when you see no response on a forum it's simply because no one has a legitimate answer. As far as the Mills Cover goes, yes you pay more up front for it, but it the long run it should outlast several of the lower priced ones. I've also seen several companies offering specialty covers on the internet and some on EBAY.
Welcome to the site and please don't hesitate to ever ask questions..............
For what it's worth, I purchased a Taylor Made Semi-Custom cover for my 17' Montauk, it's good quality, fits well over the rails and has a built in outboard cover...check thier web site to see if they have one to fit a 15', they call it on inshore fishing cover w/outboard...I bought it thru boatersworld, less than $180 delivered...
I have a 15' sport, I only cover it in the winter with reg. tarp from Wal-Mart, and a complex system of 4x4's and rope, other than that, I leave it open because, I don't like the fuss of the 20 minute ordeal of "Covering" and "Uncovering" the boat every time I go to use it, Don't get me wrong, a cover is the best way to protect your boat from rain and U.V. rays, it's just that my model has the shape of a "Bath tub" to collect rain water, and I don't feel like setting up the poles for the tarp at the dock, I also don't like the look of all the "snap's" on the hull, so I leave it open with an auto. bilge pump, I only cover the seat. For the "best fit" (I.M.O.) have a custom cover made by a local canvass maker.
Thanks guys...I think I am going to go the Mills Canvas route. A buddy of mines father has one on his Dauntless and he said it still looks like new and it is almost ten years old!
I sent Suzanne at Mills the photos yeaterday so that she can show me where I need to get some measurements for her and the hopefully I can get it ordered and on my new pride and joy!

No luck from Mills on the cover. Apparently they can't make a custom cover?
I emailed Suzanne and suggested they could use a stock 15' Dauntless cover and cut off the bow portion and then make a custom front potion that would go over my bow rails and around my trolling motor.
I thought that was what canvas makers did?
Any ideas where I could go to get a 'custom' cover made for my Dauntless?
