Hi, this summer I bought a 1969 13' Boston Whaler as a restoration project. I have always loved the boats and can't wait to drive it this summer. I Bought a new outboard for it this week and I was wondering if anyone had a used BOW RAIL or MOORING COVER that I might be able to buy. The reason that I want to buy these used is because I am only 14 and I am looking to save a little money after that new outboard put a hole in my pocket. The bow rail is needed because I do a lot of fishing sometimes with 40-50lb stripers (on a bigger boat) and Iwant it to be a more secure place so I dont lose my gear and go overboard! The cover is because I am keeping my whaler on a mooring that my parents have had for a long time and were saving for me, when I bought my own boat. Please respond if you have anything that you are willing to sell. Please respond to

watts4@comcast.net

Thanks a lot for looking and I hope to hear from you soon!

If you don`t mind my asking what kind of work do you do other that being a student. You must be very industries to save enough money at your age to buy that Whaler.

I don't mind you asking at all, in fact I'm very proud!!!

I work year round For $10 an hour which is a lot of hours to buy a whaler. I do all types of landscaping such as mowing lawns with my tractor, weedwhacking, and blowing leaves. I also shovel driveways in the winter and so far we've had 5 snowdays, which is good for my whaler fund. I have also bought myself a computer an ipod (which im typing this on) and a mountain-bike so far. Right now I'm saving for the bow rail and
mooring cover, then I will buy a dirtbike or atv hopefully this smmer. Earning the money is the easy part, convincing my parnts to let me buy the stuff is the hard part, that is unless it has to do with boats.

Thanks for asking me!

ha, I wish. My parents taught me that u appriciate things more when u work for them yourself, so I guess that's what I do. And it may stink for a little bit but I'm glad I'm not spoiled like some of my friends.

Robbie,

You should be very proud of yourself.

With an attitude and work ethic like you have now, you never know, you may be sitting in Donald Trumps seat someday. Or in charge of something else interesting in your life.

ya better than me Kid ! I tried several times to save up for a 13' at your age, unfortunatley I was addicted to "Pinball" and "X-Box" was'nt invented yet. Good JOB ! I don't have a bow rail for you or a cover but, I do have extra anchor's, line, switches, wire, etc. etc., if you need anything it's YOUR'S, compliments of all of us at W/C !

I had a paper route when I was 12, and saved enough money to buy a 7 1/2 hp Merc KG4. Dad promised to help me build a raceboat. Then instead he talked me into building a fishing boat. I was disappointed, never did get a raceboat until I was 65. Motto here, stick to your guns, and don`t let anyone talk you out of doing what you plan to do.

It has a carburetor and it's oil injected. I got it with only 1/2 an hour of use time on it Smile thats pretty darn good.

You know these 13 Whalers are starting to grow on me. At first I thought bigger is better. But I have a growing appreciation for this smaller hull. They look like they might be a lot of fun,and cheep to run. It would cost more in gas to get it to the water than I would burn in a day fishing. I don't think I would take it off shore but it would make for a nice bay / keep bed boat.Cool

thanks, I sold the evinrude for only $300 but it wasn't running perfect. The wood will be refinished if I get a cover, otherwise I'm not going to varnish it. How did u like my custom phillipenian mohagany console?
