As I get ready to install my tachometer (yamaha digital), I am undecided as to where I should mount it. The least impact would be to mount it on the vertical surface but I am worried about visibility. If I mount it on the top horizontal surface, where should it go? I don't want it to be in the way of the steering cables (to the right of the wheel) and I don't want it under the wheel (left of the wheel).
Anyone have experience using an angled bezel for better visibility (I'd go for black to match the gauge)?

I searched all personal pages to see what others have done and I'm still undecided.
Thoughts?
Recommendations?
I don't have a 3 3/8" hole saw. Anyone care to "rent" one to me? I also need a hole saw for the battery switch which will be mounted on the vertical surface near the bow light switch.
Thanks in advance for the input.

I would not mount it vertically. I saw one set up like that and the visibility was somewhat limited which is why I mounted mine on the consol top, Using the angle bezel would be a plus in my opinion. Look at my personal page and you can see where mine is mounted. along with a water pressure gauge and the trim and tilt gauge.

Looks great Tom. I think I'll go for the angled bezel and mount the tach. to the right as you have done. As I don't have the steering installed, did you have any issues with the tach and the steering cable?

I found a friend with a drillpress and the right size hole saw so he drilled a hole in the top of the console. So far so good.

I agree with Tom. (I know the hole is already drilled).
My brother mounted his tach on the vertical board of his 13'. Not very useful in my opinion. Post some photos once your all rigged up!
