Well I don't know about you guys but I am ready for spring to be here. I pulled my BW out of the garage today and fired up the engine. Even though it hasn't been run since September, it fired up right away and ran wonderfully......not bad for a 16 year old motor.

Is anyone else suffering Spring Fever or is it just me?

I'm ready for Spring as well. I would just be happy if this Louisiana weather would make up its mind. We go back and forth between cold and hot.

I'm actually trying to get my Montauk ready for Spring. I just sprayed a coat of oven cleaner on a portion of the bottom of the boat. The previous owner did a terrible job trying to paint the bottom. I'm trying to decide if I should scrape between coats of oven cleaner or is it supposed to work on its own.

I have to say this part of the restore stinks. I like the wiring. I like the wood working. And I love adding new features. This job, however, goes into the category of never wanting to do again.

Hang on, Spring will be here before you know it.

I bought our yearly fishing license for both my wife and myself...

I'm ready to go fishing.

Spring fever is really bad up here in MA. We're on the tail end of yet another snow storm in a seemingly endless series (almost set a new snowfall record in Dec!) and the forecast is for single digit daytime temps at the end of the week.

Sometime in Oct, one of the forecasters got my hopes up by saying it was going to be a mild winter here, but it's been just the opposite. Now that's cold!

With the exception of Dave, all you guys are having spring NOW!.

I am waiting for the 1st decent Saturday when it is in the mid 30's and only a SCA, rather than a Storm or Gale warning so I can get out there.

I just dug the boat out again. Bahhh! Lost count.

I shouldn't complain. We have yet to go into the deep negative degree temps. For January, 20 degrees above zero feels balmy.

Yesterday and today, I finished sanding and oiling console louver doors, frames, fire extinguisher pocket frame, console fishing rod holders, and little piece that holds stern light support.

Cliff,
I haven't missed much fishing. I went last weekend. Except for the FOG we had a pretty good trip. I never put the boat away for the winter. I take the bimini off after summer, but that's it.

MIke, That;s about what we do here. Thing is, here in N. Texas when the temperature gets a little wamer, the wind is blowing like crazy and makes for a very rough ride in a 13. So even though the temperature might not be an inhibiting factor for us not going out much, these winter winds are.

I'm rebuilding my steering console and should be back in the water in a few weeks.
