I'm a noob to boating and await delivery of my 190 montauk. I saw a review of dri-deks mats on
Tackletour.com. These mats seem like a good investment. Does anyone have these or a similar
product. $200 t0 $250 seems reasonable to protect ones boat floors. What do you think?
I think people who dive use the mats because the dive tanks can abuse deck. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. I think it would be a lot easier to keep deck clean and clutter free without the mats. Just wear non-mar deck shoes.
I had the mats on a boat I previously owned and there were a lot of pros and cons. They help keep your feet dry to a point and they aid a little in items slipping and bouncing around, but they were a real pain in the butt in keeping small pieces of trash , etc out of the slots and open space.
I posted this for you at the other Boston whaler site when you asked...I had it on my 19 but since have removed it since it was a real pain getting the BW deck cleaned out from dust and dirt after using, and it left a mess on the BW decking and made it harder to clean. You had to remove all of it to clean up well....I did leave some in the hook locker......just to much of a pain to clean up around...
