I'm shopping for a trolling motor for my 17ft Montauk. My boat has the bow rail, which my Striper didn't have. I really like the rail and do not want to remove it.
Should I be looking for a particular bow mount trolling motor? It just looks like the rail may get in the way of engaging a trolling motor.
Do any of you Montauk owners have bow mount trolling motors? Thanks for any suggestions.
nvaccaro, I like the way Minnkota deploys and if you will check my personal page you will see one on my Montauk. I did not have the front rail on at the time of the picture, however it would have worked. I fish the lakes so I have auto pilot and co-pilot as well. I have a Minnkota on my Outrage and it is tight(rail is alot shorter) , but I am able to deploy it. BG
