I have traded my 115 suzuki 4stroke (TO Heavy) to a friend for his merc 90 4 stoke to go on my whaler. The merc seems to run fine with a 17 pitch resulting in about 5200 rpms with three people and a load of fuel. The 115 is mounted on a pontoon and is only reaching 4500 rpm with fuel and one person. It is a 21 pitch stainless prop. If my info is right, for every pitch i drop, I should pickup 200 rpm. My question is, should i reprop the 115 with a 17 or 19 pitch? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
