New member to the board here. How common is the Outrage in the 20 foot lenth, (I think its a 1979, or 80 not sure) I see much reference to the 22 foot version and none for the 20. In the process of refinishing the teak and bottom paint. This site is very helpfull! Thanks.
Craig,
Welcome Aboard.
The Outrage and Revenge 20 are common however, there were probably more 22's sold than 20's. Most people paid a few extra dollars for the 2 more feet.
The early Outrage 20's were actually called the V-20 and the hull does not have as deep of a V as the later straight Outrage 20's.. The inside bow steps were also a little different.
so would the shallower V of the early 20's be an advantage or a disadvantage when navigating? I do like the larer more profound step as I see some of the newer ones with a two inch type step that seems to be more of a trip hazard.
Craig,
I have never ridden in a V-20 so I really couldn't tell you.
I can tell you that there are Pro's and Con's to every boat. Every boat...
It depends on what a person wants out of their boat. Some like less of something and others like more of something else.
Enjoy it for what it is, a Boston Whaler. If that model doesn't suit you, then sell it and get another model that might fit your needs better.
I certainly have had my share. http://users.sisqtel.net/jkriz/whaler...alers.html
They were all great boats that did different things.
The 13' was great for shallow rivers. I would never take a Montauk were I took the 13'.
Every boat has its place. Again, just depends on what the person wants to do with their Whaler.
