I have found an 1985 25' Revenge W/T with twin 1993 Evinrude 150's, offered for $9975.
The recent photos make it look like it has been 'out in the weather' a bit with some gel coat damage on the port rear gunwale.
I wonder is there a neat way to check for water in between the glass in the foam? I also wonder how important the trim tabs are on this boat. Anyone with any input as to what a quite used revenge might be worth? Are there any other things I should really look for on this boat?
Thanks a bunch! You all were very helpful a couple of weeks ago when I was looking at that 21 banana Revenge (I offered $8K and the guy said he will wait till spring and sell it for 12-15K!) ...Andrew
I have seen the photos of that boat. It is beat and cooked. However, most of the original hardware is there and it could *probably* be restored if the hull itself is sound.
Trim tabs are important on this boat form being able to level it side to side while underway.
If the motors run well, it may be a fair deal, if one or both are toast, then it's not worth much.
You MUST go inspect this boat yourself and then if it looks good to you, have a professional inspect the motors.
Thanks Tom, she sent me some more photos which looks as if it has had a rough life. I wonder how to inspect the hull (I can certainly look at the outside), no way to tell if there is water in the foam??? It probably is going to suck more fuel that I care to feed it, even if they are running well!!
