I have just repowered and put new controls on my 17 Sakonnet- I have two sets of engine shift controls to sell. I set has cshift cable attached and the chrome has pitting on the control box. The other control has no cables but is brand new, in the original box.

Does anyone know the fair market value for these. I plan to put them on this site and ebay.

Thx

Hip,

There aren't really any Whaler controls.
Most Whalers were equipped with engine controls according to the brand of engine that was mounted on the transom.

What type and brand of controls do you have for sale?

they have chrome base, single shift, shift can be pulled out to prime before starting engine, and red knob on top- i was under the impression these were "whaler" controls because I have always seen them on older whalers, regardless of the engine make.

Thx

Those sound like the Morse controls.

Yes, many Whaler had engine controls made by Morse in those days...
They also used steering helms made by Teleflex...

Now we know you have the Morse MT2 most likely. Maybe the MT3.

The pitted unit is not worth much, controls cables are relatively cheap, and used cables are worth very little. The control cables ends are more valuable than the cable itself. The unit that you say is brand new should be easy to price, as I think similar units are currently made.

Does anyone know if the Morris control will work with a 1994 50 HP Yamaha? Are there any modifications that will need to be made?

Thank you,
Wally
