I was talking to sraab this morning about my 1973 lo-pro project and a very interesting question came up. Since my boat is a converted outrage I no longer have the top cap to install my fuel vent. I am trying to find out from some original lo-pro owners where the factory placed the fuel vent. I would also be interested in guys who have conversion lo-pros telling me how they ran theirs.
I need some good solutions on this because I am not sure how to work this out. I am going to have a new tank built so it makes sense to have this issue resolved before I pull the trigger on the tank.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated -- if you know someone with a lo-pro ask them about it for me. Thanks!
Rob

I know a guy with a oem low pro. 1974 I think. I will try to get a look at it this weekend, with camera in hand.
I think I am decided on the vented fill through the console. I hear the argument of fumes around the 12 volt system but I also can not count how many old center consoles I have seen with portable tanks under the console or under the seat seat. I have to move the fill from the designed location also so I think it works for me. If you are going to have the fill in the deck in the back you could just use the vented fill there.

Rob,
I have looked for photos I saved a long time ago but I cannot find them. I wanted them to be sure that is was placed in the stern area in near the fuel filler. Can not find them but I believe this is where it was located.

Bake - I really appreciate it. Thanks to all who have been helping me with this challenge. I am still a way off from really needing to worry about it but it will be good for planning things out.

On My 1979 low pro 19 the vent is right next to the fuel fill & oil fill located in the rear of the boat on what looks like a bolted on fiberglass cover that runs across the boat over the oil tank and in front of the transom and the rear well.
The cover also has rod holders and the eye for the stern light.
You are more than welcome to stop by and look at it for yourself I am in Clear Lake area of Nassau Bay.
I can also shoot some photos for you this weekend.
