Although I am a brand new Whaler owner (2008 130 Sport), I am so glad I bought a 2008 model at the end of the season rather than waiting for the new 2009's. I don't mean to offend anyone who like the new models, but what was Whaler thinking? I thought a major selling point for Whaler was their classic design. These new 130's remind me of novelty rental boats you would see in a tourist destination. Maybe they will prove to be as worthy as all of the older Whalers. My dealer hinted that the 2009's would be "scaled back a bit", he did not say that they wouldn't really even resemble the 2008 model. Sorry if this has been discussed before.
dc, I agree completely. I thought the 2008 model 13 footer was radical enough, but it was still recognizable as a Whaler. It seems like the interior has been moved forward on the 08`s. Can you tell me how many inches there are between the back of the rear thwart(seat) and the center of the transom? Thanks.
