I want to purchase a new Continental trailer for my 1968 Sakonnet. The trailer dealer is not being too helpful. I am looking at a couple of galvanized models that have both bunk and rollers. I am torn as to which model would suit me best here in southeast Florida. There is a v-framed model (cv7) and a straight frame (c7) both whith a 1700 pound weight capacity. These both have the capability to tilt. Then there is ew17v which has a 2100 pound weight capacity. Any thoughts on length, width and weight would be greatly appreciated.

I consider myself an expert on Continental Trailers, since I own 3 myself, and have steered many others to them. Just bought one about 3 months ago from Broward Trailer in Dania. Give Susan (owner) a call and tell her I sent you. Great pricing. Highly recommend the extra cost 12" Stoltz rollers and SS shafts on ALL cross members.

You want either the C-7, which I KNOW works perfectly for a 16' hull, or the CV-7, which probably does also, but I am less sure of fender clearance, since the 16 is not much of a Vee hull. Forget that wide frame model.

Thanks very much for the info. it was very helpful. I was leaning towards the c7 model and asked the guy at Broward Trailer about the extra cost of 12 inch poly rollers and the s/s hardware, but have not heard back from him. I hope to order it today. I was more concerned about the load capacity of the c7 as opposed to the others. Thanks again. Tom. By the way , i bought my Whaler from a person who lives in Willmette(?), Il. and had it shipped to me.
