I am looking for opinions regarding this model, for a family of 5. We have a 94' Montauk and are looking to move up to something a little larger, with a little more flexibility, yet, still have the ability to trailer the boat.
We typically day cruise as a family, as well as fish (freshwater and saltwater) with between 2 and 4 people. The 21 Walkaround looks to fish 4 comfortably, with 2 up front.
We are also considering the 22 Revenge, 22 Outrage and 22 Outrage Cuddy. All have their pros/cons, and I like them all. Unfortunately, being a 2 boat family is not in my immediate future.
One concern I have regarding the 21 Walkaround is seating. With 2 helm seats and 2 jump seats, seating in the cockpit is limited. The small size of the cockpit does not lend much flexibility. The kids may very well sit up front, though only a low speeds.
From a seating perspective, the older models (Revenges, Outrages, Outrage/Cuddy) with the optional rear bench seat (much like we have in the Montauk) provides more seating in the cockpit.
Since we are in the Northeast, I also like the weather protection the cabin models provide when outfitted with a curtain set. This year, we started fishing for stripers in March - which was pretty raw in the Montauk.
So, it's the classic problem of figuring out which model best meets most of our needs. That said, we are looking at a 21 Walkaround, and would appreciate any information from those with experience with this model.
