Has anyone seen an 11ft. whaler mounted on edge as you would do with a Seawise davit? I've heard that the lower side of the whaler could collapse from the weight of the whaler and engine sitting on the side. What if I put Stainless Steel doublers on the side say about 1ft. X 3in.'s to spread out the weight bearing side of the whaler?

Regards
Al

The lower side the Whaler will most definitely NOT collapse. You can do this to ANY Whaler hull. They are MORE than strong enough to bear the weight. You do not need to modify anything to reinforce it.
