I have a classic 13 super sport. I am considering an anchor but not sure what type and what the weight of it should be? The boat is primarily used in a state park lake. Thanks.
I use a 10 pound mushroom anchor with my 13 BW. If you're using your boat primarily in lakes, you have to worry about branches and trees on the bottom of those lakes. A danforth will get hooked on those trees and you'll play hell trying to retrieve your anchor. Use a mushroom anchor and you can get them for about $15 at Wal-mart. My 10lb mushroom anchor has not let me down yet. In fact just today, though I am in North Texas, the winds from Gustav was felt in my lake. The 10lb mushroom held just fine in mud and I didn't drift at all....even with 15 knot winds.
Good luck and welcome to WC.
