I need the pro's to weight in on this.. while refinishing the side boards of my 13 I noticed slots/groves cut into the cutouts for the seats, My guess is that there was some type off retainer fixed in these to hold the seat in place since I noticed a small brass pin.
If anyone knows what they are and what I should replace them with I'd appreciate it
thanks Bob

Sounds to me like the small rubber grommet they put there to ride on the wood. Can you post a pic so we can see what area your talking about?

I think John has it - there is a small rubber piece that sits in there to lock the wood in place.

I used a plastic stick-on like the ones made to go on the bottom of furniture and it works great. Keeps the seat board from sliding.............I looked everywhere trying to find a replacement for the original with no luck.

I always wondered if those little rubber washers were still available from Whaler though I doubt it. Never found any old ones that were usable.

I found some that worked in the nuts/bolts drawers at my local Tru-Value hardware store (lots of hardware but not a big store ) Think they were for furniture legs or a rubber bushing of some type.
