I'm planning to restore my 17' and am looking at a console that needs to be refinished, factoring in the sweat required and the value of new wood etc from a place like nautical lumber. What do you believe is a fair price? It is a 1971 nausset style console and requires a full refinishing and some replacement.
Is the wood structurally sound and just in need of being refinished or are there parts that are rotting and need to be replaced.
The biggest factor in selling a used console like that is the shipping. If it needs a lot of work once you factor shipping in most my not be willing to pay a lot of it. Your best bet is trying to sell it locally on Craigslist. There is one on EBAY right now that looks to be in Fair condition. Watch that auction and see what it goes for and price yours accordingly. $200 I think would be fair for a console the is in ok shape and in need of some work and a complete striping and refinish.

it is the one on ebay and is only 10 miles from my house so I'm in good shape on that. I was putting it at $150 so I'm not that far off...thanks for the perspective!
