Looks like I'm going to be selling my Montauk. I would appreciate some advice on where to price her. I've seen Montauks advertised lately from $6-11k depending on age of power and am thinking I'm somewhere in the middle. Pics and info at the link below. Boat is in Denver. Loads slow. Thanks! Stikbo

I would look at Montauks that are within 500 miles of you with similar aged power and put it at the top of the range. I.E. if the price range was 6-9k, I would start at 9k.

Try the Boattrader.com, they usually have whalers for sale to compare.
Also your State numbers are incorrect. You sell the boat, the new owner gets a ticket, they will not he happy.
Should read CL 9224 FT there should be a space between the L and 9 and the 4 and the F.
It is like this in all 50 states. It show be on both sides as well.
It is a common mistake but still illegal.
good luck selling the boat.

stikbo - looks like a very clean little Montauk. What year is the hull and 90hp evinrude? I am also curious about the water line being so high in the rear -- does it ride that low in the water? I have a 91 hull with a 97 90hp ocean runner. I am planning to sell her next spring and am going to start around $10k.

Your boat is clean and well cared for. While the bottom paint might turn some away I have never seen it as a great problem. Your biggest hurdle to over come in your location. Denver is in the middle of the country and it is going to cost someone from either coast good money to come out and get the boat if they want it. Hopefully you will get lucky and find a buy not worried about that or one that is pretty local. Start at 9 and see where it goes. I would say if it was on one of the coasts I could see it starting and selling between 10 and 10.5 thousand.

Thanks for the heads up Wrangler.
Rob- Hull and motor are both 1987. You can see the waterline in the last pic. That's where it was when I bought the boat and I just repainted to the same line.
Appreciate the feedback guys.
