Every spring I think about putting a pin stripe down the side of my 15' sport. I want to do a hot flourescent orange between the white and the blue bottom paint.
I think it would make me a bit more visable on the water, as well as adding a splash of indaviduality. Most years I'm running late (like this year, should be in by 6/1) but, If I was to do the stripe, would I paint ( using Krylon spray can) between the bottom paint and the hull ? or just along the top of the bottom paint. Should the stripe be made of anti-fouling paint instead ? If I put the "Krylon" on the anti-fouling paint, will barnicles grow on the Krylon stripe painted along the water line ?
I'm already not liking the idea again... the stripe would have to be done every year, adding to the maint. that the boat was designed to avoid, Whalers are certainly lower maint. than most boats, so maybe the classic look is best, any idea's ????
My Whaler had some non OEM tape stripes on it. As they got shabby looking I took them off. They are all off now and I like the look better. If you really want to do it, use some "tape" pin stripes that you can remove easily. John
