I would like to add trim tabs to my boat. I don't see a problem with the starboard side with the access panel and rigging tube their. The port side is another question, could the same type of access panel be installed? Could I then run the wires under the motor well to the starboard side?
Where this boat isn't really designed for trim tabs, it is difficult to run wires from the port side as the area under the port/aft step is foam filled.
Whaler would not recommend installing an access cover and digging out any foam as this would void the hull warranty and could cause structural damage.
Wiring would have to be run outside of the hull and routed up and over the transom to run with the rest of the rigging from the engine to the console.
Guess I'll be skipping the tabs
