Original Montauks do not have odd consoles.

Many people think that every Boston Whaler is a Montauk. Other people like to play stupid and try and advertise their boat as a Montauk even though it is NOT....

Although the boat in the photo above is a Boston Whaler 17' model, it is not a Montauk. I do however like the aftermarket console and aftermarket seat that someone installed.

It is not a model of anything....

It is a 17' hull Whaler with an aftermarket interior.

If it sounds like a duck, and looks like a duck, it must be a Montauk..... Smile

Many people take a bare 17' hull and put what they want in it. All the boat will ever be is a 17' bare hull with an aftermarket interior. That isn't a bad thing when done right but it will never be a Montauk unless the correct original parts are used.

Here is the original console(s) that a Montauk should have:

And here is the original RPS (or leaning post) a Montauk should have:
http://www.whalercentral.com/photogal...lbum_id=13

Factory original Leaning Post (later version as there was an earlier version)
http://www.whalercentral.com/photogal...hoto_id=73

And here are photos of what a Montauk should look like:

If the model doesn't look like the above Montauks, then it must be a duck.

The first one looks like a CPD boat. The console and seat look a lot like the setup in a Guardian, I looked at a couple years back.

The console and seat are from Whaler's CPD and were OEM options for the 17 guardian.

The boats pictured above are Guardian 17s made by Boston Whaler Commercial Products Division (CPD) now known as Brunswick Commercial and Government Products (CGP.)

They are not Montauks.

I totally was not thinking about the Commercial series boats today.
No wonder I liked the console and the seat, they are Boston Whaler class products.
