We are stumped at our dealership. We have a customer's 2006 235 Conquest with a 250 Mercury Verado. We put a Panther bracket on the transom to place the 9.9 hp mercury Pro-Kicker on the Port side. The issue is the offset of the two motors doesn't allow a clear path for the two motors for the steering arm. We used a Panther arm and it will not clear the big engine when it swivels. We thought of trying an Easy Steer from the rear, but the huge Verado would be difficult to get huge hose clamps to strap around it and below the cowling is plastic which flex's too much.

Has anyone overcome this engineering challenge? My email is ron1win@yahoo.com. I will try to post a picture later today.

Thanks!

I would assume that since it is a single 250, it does not have the tiller extension. May be you could get one from Merc and fabricate a custom angled tie bar for/to the kicker. The tiller extension will pivot with the motor, but does not tilt with it. I can’t see from the photos the front of the kicker, so I am not sure how the tie would attach and whether it would need to have some sort of release mechanism in order to tilt it. BTW, maybe it is just me, but 9 hp seems a bit on the low side for 4000+ lb boat. Good luck – the 250 is a huge motor and that transom doesn’t really lend itself for 2 motors (even if one is small)

Thanks for the response! The owner called the dealership where he purchased the boat used and they knew someone they put one of these one. They used a Mercury tie rod and they custom bent it till they got it to work. Similar to what you suggested Jolly.

Thanks again.
