Please forgive me if this has been covered a thousand times but I couldn't find mention of my issue in the archives. The round stand-off bracket that holds the aft vertical portion of the bow rail on my '85 Montauk fits loosely and rattles like crazy. The mount between the stand-off and the fiberglass are tight as I have been slowly drilling out and epoxying mahogany plugs for better grip with the screws. Is there a way to some how shim the gap between the circular bracket and the rail.
It's hard to explain here but I wondering if I can just sink some epoxy into the narrow gap.
Thanks for the link. It didn't address my problem however. I fixed it by coaxing 30 minute 2-ton epoxy in the thin gap with a toothpick. Rail seems solid.
