I just bought a 1989 Boston Whaler Revenge 20 W/T with a 200 Hp 1989 Suzuki. It was listed on CW. I will be picking it up next week unless someone just happens to be driving to Mass from Southport NC.
This is my third one in basically as many years. This one is almost exactly what I've been craving minus two feet, but I jumped on it. I'm sure I will enjoy it. Photos Here
I am selling a 1971 222 Hiliner if anyone is interested. Dont want to breakl the rules in the classified section- looks like Boston Whaler only. The Hiliner has a Ray Hunt Hull at least.
Anyhoo,I would welcome some comments specifically on the platform that this Revenge has and any other comments are welcome. The boat appears very clean, almost to the point of having gone through a restoration, but I have been told that it is just "well preserved". I am not too thin skinned so brutal honesty is ok.
Congrats on the boat. I was thinking about heading to NC last year to look at that boat. Then I found a 22 Revenge WT I was going to purchase in SC until I found out it had crazing all over the cuddy cap.
On your way down to Southport if you are passing by New Bern North Carolina and have time...Stop by and see if you can get a tour of the Hatteras Factory. I was there 3 weeks ago for an owners event and it truely was AMAZING.
Thanks for your reply Jeff as well as the link to photos. I had also had pics sent of the crazed revenge which belonged to the Lee family. I also have pics from Swede but I don't know if he was selling his or if I had it for reference. Swedes was an 86, Lee was an 87.
My floor on the HiLiner I have was heavily crazed and the plywoood deck was wet and soft. Not fun replacing that but thank goodness the HiLiners have fiberglass stringers.
I wish I could get to the Hatteras factory, but I have to do a quick up and down for this one.
Congrats on the Revenge. I've been on a bunch of get-togethers with Newt (WC member) who had one. There were several times I envied him sitting inside his weather set while I was totally exposed. Me, cold and wet and him warm and dry, drinking hot cocoa! A great boat!
I drove from Maine to Norfolk,VA and back in a weekend to bring my Outrage 17 home. Lots of coffee!
Hope the Hiliner finds a good home. Looks like you have done a great job getting her back into shape.
FWIW - Went to school in Marion and know the Bay well!
