I recently purchased a 04 150 Sport with the factory installed Bow rails. Is a rail installed Bimini a viable option? I have seen ss rail clamps for the tops {no drilling} online, and the Bimini I purchased does not attach comfortably either in or outside the rails.
When I had my Rage it had a bimini that was attached to the rails. It was drilled through though. I don't see any issue with this practice as it seemed to work well on my boat.
This is probably the best picture I have that shows that the bimini is attached to the rails. It was a mills bimini.
Thanks for your input & pic. I went ahead and ordered the s/s rail clamps for the top. I was a bit concerned over the additional height, but actually it may work better with poles in the rod holders. This is my first Whaler and I'm looking forward to getting it out on the water. Here is a link to the rail clamp site.
